Mongolian Switzerland




Day 1: Our staff will meet you and transfer to the center of capital city Ulaanbaatar. Guided city tour to Gandan Lamasery, Natural history museum and Choijin Lama Monastery. In the evening have a nice look to the city from the Zaisan Memorial.
Day 2:
We will start driving to the Amarbayasgalant. The Monastery of Tranquil Felicity, once one of the three largest Buddhist centers in Mongolia, is located near the Selenge River. The Monastery was built in 1736 by Zanabazar, the first Bogd Undur Gegeen Zanabazar, a religious and cultural leader. Unlike other monasteries Amarbayasgalant shows great class of style. The overall design is Chinese despite some Mongolian and Tibetan influence. Amarbayasgalant monastery is two storey building covering an area of 87 hectares. In the early 1900s, the 8000 monks practiced Buddhist philosophy, astrology and medicine. In 1937, all high ranked monks, religious leaders and intellectuals were executed.
Day 3:
After an early breakfast start long driving to the Great Lake Khuvsgul, the second largest freshwater lake in Central Asia with over one percent of the world's freshwater and a maximum depth of 262m. This gorgeous lake is fed by ninety six rivers and streams, but only Egiin River

flows out from the lake, joining the Selenge River on the way to the Lake Baikal. The Khuvsgul lake is inhabited by nine species of fish, while the nearby taiga forest, forest steppe, and mountains provide habitat for 68 species of mammals, including argali, ibex, elk, reindeer, musk deer, brown bear, lynx, marten, beaver, wolf and moose as well as 244 species of birds and 750 species of plants. The lake is surrounded by dozens of stunning mountains, thick pine forests and lush meadows with grazing yaks and horses Lake Khuvsgul.
Day 4: Today we have full day in front of us for our leisure. We will have great possibilities for horse back riding, swimming, fishing, etc. In the afternoon we will drive to the Tsaatan family to see totally different nomads with reindeers compare to central Mongols
Day 5: Stay around the lake. Free for your leisure.

Day 6: Drive back to the Bulgan city. Have a great night in the nature in a small comfortable tent. On the way we will see Uran Togoo Volcano one of the ancient non active volcanoes.  
Day 7:
In the morning we will drive back to the capital city Ulaanbaatar. In the evening enjoy Mongolian traditional folklore concert. Have a farewell dinner hosted by our company.
Day 8:
Your guide and driver will see you off.
